The Governments New Green Homes Grant to give up to £5,000 in vouchers

The government recently announced a £3 billion package of green measures, which includes the new Green Homes Grant. The grant provides homeowners with a voucher of up to £5,000 (or £10,000 for low-income households) to pay towards energy-efficient home improvements.

As part of the scheme, the government will cover two thirds of the cost of energy-efficient upgrades in a home. Examples of possible upgrades include:

  • insulation, such as solid wall, cavity wall or loft insulation
  • heating
  • draught-proofing
  • double glazing
  • renewable energy generation, such as solar panels or heat pumps

Online applications will open in September 2020, and the government expects that around 650,000 houses will benefit from the scheme.

Please keep checking our website as we will be sharing more information about the scheme and how to benefit as it is released.
